TSA Candidate Technologies
The U.S. 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 requires The Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) to establish a system to screen 100 percent of cargo transported on passenger planes by 2010. TSA has placed the Rapiscan 620DV X-ray screening system and the Rapiscan MVXR5000 baggage screener on its list of candidate technologies which may be used by airlines, air cargo carriers, freight forwarders, IACs and other companies to comply with TSA’s new screening regulations.
DfT Approval for Use
The Rapiscan 620DV and MVXR5000 are two of an elite number of screening systems to obtain approval for use status from the United Kingdom’s Department for Transport (DfT).
